The beginner DJ course is designed to teach you all the fundamental skills and theory you need to DJ in a club. The core areas of tuition for this course are beat-matching by ear, volume control, mixing, EQing, timing, phrasing, harmonic mixing and set structure. It's everything you need to get started! It's all taught one-to-one, so you'll never be in a group, and you can learn at your own pace with your favourite music.
You'll start learning on industry standard DJ equipment including the Pioneer CDJ 2000 Nexus and DJM mixer set up used in the majority of clubs alongside Rekordbox and Mixed In Key.

Learn how to analyse the key of your tracks using Mixed In Key and how to plan and mix harmonically.
Learn about the industry standard Pioneer DJ decks and mixer. Get your hands on the controls and load your tracks.
Get to grips with cueing up your record and beatmatching by ear. Use the Jog wheel, monitors and headphones to lock in the perfect mix.
Learn how to blend your mix seamlessly with the channel faders and the EQs.
Learn all about the phrasing structure of your tracks and how they are produced to be mixed together. Practice mixing your tracks on the phrase.
Learn how to create more impactful mixes using your EQ’s alongside your musical phrasing. Broaden your mixing abilities and be able to mix quicker, with more accuracy.
Learn how to use the Filter and other Color FX to make your transitions even smoother.
Prepare your playlist on Rekordbox for your first recording while making use of the advanced functions of the program.
